To find out if this update is suitable for your model:
Press the 'MENU' button, (central for the iDrive controller).
Go to 'NAVIGATION' and press the controller [ENTER].
When the map is visible on the screen, press 'OPTION' on the right behind the controller.
Scroll down and select 'NAVIGATION SYSTEM VERSION'.
The bottom row shows the type of system and the version of the map material (eg 'Road Map Europe PREMIUM 2009-1').
